For those not familiar, Southern California's Palm Springs became a mecca of modernism in the 40's, 50's and 60's.  The area's proximity to Hollywood helped its popularity with Jet Setter stars like Frank Sinatra and others, visiting for a quick weekend escape. This also led to a housing boom in the mid century for those not so famous but just preferred the warmer climate all year round.

Inspired by all that sunshine and the stark desert landscape, sleek, glass-infused homes by renowned architects and a place for whats described as "the largest number of Mid Century Modern architecture in the world" and a haven for visionary modernists such as Richard Neutra who were practicing the International Style in Los Angeles.  The famous Kaufmann Desert House located in Palm Springs that was designed by architect Richard Neutra in 1946 and known for its iconic photos by Slim Aarons - Pool Side Gossip and Desert House Party.
